The Baseball Call-In Show

Although it will not air on Access 4 until tomorrow, I am proud to present Episode 15: The Baseball Call-In Show.

In what has already become the most talked about show in our year of doing public access, we field calls from concerned citizens as we try to explain the importance of building a new baseball stadium and bringing baseball back to Springfield.

This show is important to us because it gives us the opportunity to show our viewers how we live outside the studio. It gives us the opportunity to show our viewers that, although it may not alway seem like it, we're regular people, too. We put our headbands and sleeveless shirts on the same way you all do.

You can watch it here:

Was this episode of just 2 guys filmed in Springfield, Mississippi? One subject that I have not heard you touch on is after the stadium is built, how do you get the minor league team to Springfield.

Man, I wish my baseball-blogger alter ego knew about this taping. I've got plenty of ideas re: baseball in Springfield.

If you want, hit us up on our e-mail: justtwoguys[AT]hotmail[dot]com. Maybe we could do a follow-up to the show with a baseball scholar such as Mr. 26th Man. We could either conduct a face to face interview during one of our tapings or schedule a call-in with you.

The main point of this first show was just to present the idea to the community that it would be possible to bring baseball back and to get people thinking about it. Back when the local blog scene first started posting about this issue, I thought your ideas were among the best. You're obviously more well-versed in baseball knowledge than either Micah or me. Let's work something out.

If any of you other bloggers are interested, let us know. Maybe we could do a roundtable discussion. Wouldn't that be neat?

my assumption is that the baseball team would all have to be dressed up like Abe Lincoln becasue if it dont say Abe, it aint Springfield. On a side note.. you guys always say "good question" during the Q&A, but never "that's a horrible question"

There's a reason for that. Let me take you back to show #1. Micah and I sat down for what was set to be our very first episode. Micah asked me a question, and I said, "Are you kidding me? That was a terrible question."

He grabbed me by the lapel and punched me. I kicked him below the belt and before I knew what was happening, Micah and I were throwing chairs at each other, and he stabbed me in the neck with a turkey bone shank he had fashioned while we were in the Access 4 cafeteria earlier in the evening.

Needless to say, that show was never aired. We threw it into the vault, and that's where it remains today, collecting dust.

After several months of litigation and bags of flaming poop, Micah and I came to an agreement: we would give the show another try, but only if we were overly complimentary to each other during the Q & A. So far it's working.
