Movie Geeks Club: An Indecent Proposal

Tonight's screening of Leon (The Professional) will take place tonight at 7:30 at Capital City Bar and Grill. I'd like to get a show of hands as to who is planning to attend tonight. If you plan to attend, please drop us a comment and let us know.

Additionally, in an effort to draw out the local blogger crowd, if you have a local blog, and you post about the Movie Geeks Club today, we'll buy you a drink. The only catch is, you have to be in attendance tonight.

Thanks Russ.

p.s. This has nothing to do with Robert Redford, Woody Harrelson, or Demi Moore.

This post didn't show up on Spfldbloggers for some reason, and I'm afraid no one is seeing it.

If you offer more free beer, it will be posted...

Actually I just remembered that you can not post something with a previously used title.

Leon, The Professional

One of the first characters you see in the movie is Springfield native, Frank Senger. He's the drug dealer who The Professional is hired to run out of town.

Frank was born and raised in Springfield, graduated from SHS in 73, then went out to New York to become an actor. I knew Frank pretty well, first met him when I walked by in the alley at about age 9. We got in a fistfight and I won because he cut up his hand so bad on my teeth he had to quit.

Frank was in The Jerky Boys, Maximum Risk, and whatever that movie was called where Hugh Grant falls in love with that mobster's daughter. You'll see him from time to time in cop shows too. When he left town, we all said "See you in a couple of weeks Frank." He stayed gone, and showed up on the screen.
